Star Wars is a crucial franchise that has given so much to their fans, the universe of TV and Hollywood in general. If you are a diehard fan of Star Wars trilogy and the standalone movies such as Rogue One and Solo, you would absolutely love their new TV adaption named “The Mandalorian.” Recognized throughout his appearance within the show wearing a suit of steel armour and a large blaster gun that not only targets his enemy aliens or human alike but deliberately fry them to ashes. He goes by the name Mandalorian or Mando for short.

What is the show about?

Allover Star Wars you might have seen a variety of Mandalorians who are the guild members and serve it by doing bounty hunting and getting paid for their services. The Mandalorian played by Pedro Pascal is no different. Suppose you are looking for the Sci-fi tech exhibited in various Star Wars, intergalactic buzzing and hustling on a space shuttle and other random alien technology. In that case, you will be able to find all of it in The Mandalorian, but there is a classic twist there. The twist is that this series lacks lightsabers which are a Star Wars classic and The Mandalorian is like a western movie star.

He is almost an outlaw who goes wild after procuring baby Yoda for a client of the guild only to rescue him afterwards as the plot unravels the client’s dark ambitions to harness the powers of baby Yoda by sacrificing him in scientific research. After taking the Baby Yoda Mandalorian goes rogue in search for other habitable places as guild turns on him.

Where does it take place?

The Mandalorian takes place five years after those events, and it takes place on the outer rim, which is the very place where evil empire existed but was stormed down in the return of Jedi.  As for the shooting location, the complete Mandalorian series is filmed within the Manhatten Beach studios in California while the shooting broads out to the other Californian areas as well.

The Mandalorian Age rating

The Mandalorian is rated (PG rating) as TV-14, but at the same time there are a few episodes that are rated as TV-PG, so if your kid is about nine years of age and is already familiar with the storyline and action presented in Star Wars then you should allow them to watch this masterpiece. But that won’t stop the adult, and possibly some of the diehard older fans of the franchise to embark on this gun-slinging conquest portrayed by Mandalorian who has a simple duty and that is to save our favourite Baby Yoda.

The Mandalorian cast

The cast of the Mandalorian is exceptionally diverse that will take you on a spin-off that targets some of the older emotions coming back to the surface from previous Star Wars installations but at the same time a few new faces acting in the lead roles.

  • Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian)
  • Gina Carano (Cara Dune)
  • Carl Weathers (Greef Karga)

  • Chris Bartlett (RA-7 Droid)
  • Misty Rosas (Kuiil Performance Artist)
  • Omid Abtahi (Dr Pershing)

Timeline (where and when does it take place)

If you are wondering about the ultimate timeline of The Mandalorian in the Star Wars universe, then you are given a lot of clues within season 1 to narrow down the search. But if you can’t, then here it goes; you might have seen the heads of Stormtroopers all around the main guild palace on pikes. There is also no Darth Vader anywhere to be found among our beloved helmeted protagonist Mando’s journey. It can only mean one thing, and that is The Mandalorian takes place after the events of the Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. The movie ends with Darth Vader and Skywalker’s death burning his body on the pyre, to be able to extract more meaning you would have to watch that particular Star Wars.

Baby Yoda

A Stat Wars classic couldn’t be completed without Baby Yoda now could it be? Well, you have got your all-time favourite cutesy character who is Baby Yoda and in fact, the whole season is based on the Mandalorian protecting Baby Yoda. Baby Yoda could be about 25-35 years old in the series, but he is still a baby who coos and eats almost every living thing smaller than him for an easy gulping.

At one time when Mandalorian is in deep trouble battling with an ox-like creature on a deserted land to retrieve the egg, Baby Yoda comes to his rescue and levitates the ox into thin air allowing Mando an escape and a savoury blow to defeat it. Baby Yoda is not only an all-time favourite of the children in the series but in the real world as well.

Boba Fett

Boba Fett, an exemplary and most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, makes his return in The Mandalorian when Boba is tracking the Mandalorian to Tython. Boba Fett has an exemplary customized Mandalorian armour and deadly weaponry to hunt his prey or in the case of TV series the Mandalorian his bounty. He is a genetic clone of his father named Jango Fett, and he started learning martial art and combat skills right from a very young age. His return on The Mandalorian is a breath of fresh air for the diehard Star Wars fans.

Armour/Helmet

Talking about the armour the Mandalorian has on him is simply exemplary. If you are an old Star Wars fan, then you already know that it goes against the Mandalorian code to take off your helmet before anybody and if you do then you can’t wear it ever. The same happens in the Mandalorian, the protagonist who is Mando doesn’t take off his helmet ever and becomes extremely feisty if an enemy approaches to do so.

His armour, on the other hand, is made from pure steel but throughout the series, he struggles to get it built as steel goes scarce and he has to capture bounties to get paid in steel. But after retrieving Baby Yoda, he gets a huge payment of steel that allows him to completely revamp his armour from scratch.

Final Thoughts

It is an exemplary Star Wars installation to be ever brought to the big picture by Disney+ entertainment. One of the most glamorous things about the Mandalorian is that you are not required to watch the entire Star Wars just to be able to understand what is going on in the Mandalorian. Even if you don’t know much about Star Wars, you will thoroughly enjoy this incredible show.
